Registration by mail
If registering by mail for the first time, submit a copy of your ID. After the election authority receives the application, you will receive confirmation within 7 business days. If you do not receive confirmation, contact the election authority.
It should be postmarked by October 10th, 2018.

Absentee ballot
Step 1: Request for an absentee ballot
Submit an absentee ballot request form. The last day to request them online or by mail is 5pm on October 31st (the Office has to have your request in hand by 5pm that day).
Step 2: Vote absentee
The county clerk will start mailing out absentee ballots six weeks before Election Day.

Vote by Mail
Once you’ve received your ballot, make sure you complete the ballot AND the absentee ballot envelope, which must also be notarized. (Note: persons with disabilities do not have to have ballots notarized.)
Make sure that you return your completed ballot to the county clerk’s office before the polls close at 7:00pm on Election Day.
Vote In Person
You can vote absentee in person in the county clerk’s office until 5:00 p.m. the night before the election.

Under Missouri’s new law, there are three ways you can cast a ballot at the polls on Election Day:
- Option 1: Provide one of the following photo ID documents:
- Missouri issued Driver license that is not expired
- Missouri issued Nondriver license that is not expired or does not have an expiration date
- U.S. Passport that is not expired
- Military ID that is not expired or does not have an expiration date
- Option 2: Sign an affidavit and provide the same ID you provided in previous elections. Some examples are:
- Voter Identification card issued by the Boone County Clerk
- Identification issued by the State of Missouri that has your current name
- Identification issued by the U.S. Government that contains your current name
- State college/university ID that contains your current name
- Utility bill that contains your current name and address
- Bank statement that contains your current name and address
- Government check that contains your current name and address
- Paycheck that contains your current name and address
- Government document that contains your current name and address
- Out of state driver license or nondriver license
- Expired Missouri driver license
- Expired Passport
- Birth Certificate with your current name
- Social Security Card that contains your current name
- Option 3: Only available for State and Federal elections. If you have no form of identification, but are a registered voter, you can cast a provisional ballot. There are two ways your vote counts:
- If you come back to your polling location before the close of polls on Election Day; or
- If your signature matches the signature on file on the voter registration record.

You can fill out, print, sign, and mail the registration application form (along with a copy of your ID if registering for the first time) or in person by visiting the county office.

Make sure that you return your completed/notarized ballot to the county clerk’s office before the polls close at 7:00pm on Election Day. Or you can vote in person in the county clerk’s office until 5:00 p.m. the night before the election.

- If you have moved within the same county, you are permitted to change your registration address up until the Election Day at your new polling place or the central polling location.
- If you are originally registered in other county, and if you want to be able to vote in the county you moved, you will need to fill out a new voter registration application by October 10th.

Answer: You need to be a Missouri resident and registered to vote by October 10th if you want to vote in the November election.
Answer: Yes, you can. If you’ve been convicted of a felony, you may register to vote after you have served your entire sentence, including any probation or parole.
